Planning for University with a trained expert to navigate the applications, testing, and nuanced requirements that students and families results in high quality tailored options where students can find their home away from home. Universities in Europe and the U.S. have always differed in requirements which makes the application journey confusing and frustrating. In addition, university fees are costly, so maximizing the application process is essential to avoid transfer or inappropriate placement. Gabriela has provided her students over the last decade via AVID (Advcancement Via Individual Determination) and IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) students through the application, essay-writing, and test-taking process so they can put their best foot forward. What she's found is that the emotional tie to the outcome of acceptance, makes the process even more arduous to participate in objectively. Listening to peers and families can also confuse the process since every student brings unique capabilities and ensuring they are in the right environment is paramount to the college choice process.
Every student deserves to find their people and have access to world class secondary education. What is available at small boarding schools across the United States is truly unparalleled. Students have the opportunity to learn from the most dedicated professionals and gain independent living skills to prepare them for the demands of post-secondary school. A small boarding school placement fosters lifelong connections and professional networks to count on throughout their lives. Boarding schools are so different, but all wonderfully warm educational communities where students from all over the world would be lucky to be educated at. I wish my parents had known about these options when I was in high school!
Residential and boarding schools can be a very difficult decision for families to make. Sometimes, home-interventions are the secret sauce that jolts the family system into action and provides an in-home structure that benefits your child's complex needs. EduSphere works with home interventionists that have differing specialties, they are equipped to support the student and the family from the inside out, reporting to EduShere so that they can make appropriate day school recommendations or maintain their current school setting.
You child may not need a new school, but parents often require support when asking the school to support their child. Gabriela provides families with educational advocacy to ensure your child's needs are met within their current educational setting by working in harmony with the school and teachers assigned. Gabriela supports families by attending school meetings, educating parents, and working collaboratively with their site administrators to ensure the students' needs are being met. Gabriela's relational and student-centered approach provides a comfort for the family and a knowledgable intermediary for the schools to rely on.
