Educational Consultants are trained, unbiased educational advisors who do not receive financial compensation by the program or school they refer students to. Educational Consultants’ ethical and professional responsibility is to guide their client’s family through the options that are most appropriate for your child’s needs based on a thorough psychiatric, educational, and social review of the child. Gabriela spends one week per month traveling to visit schools and continues to collaborate weekly with programs where her students are placed to ensure a high quality experience is being delivered. Traveling to campuses, placing students at programs, and collaborating with Educational Consultants globally allows an Educational Consultant to have the access and resource to information the public could never find online. 

An Educational Consultant is NOT an admissions counselor or an educational agent. An Admissions Counselor works for the school or program and are singularly focused on marketing their program( they may) rely on increasing admissions (filling beds) and gaining commissions for each new admit. An Educational Agent (found mostly in Asia and the UK) may be driven by financial commissions from the schools and programs when they refer students.

Knowing an educational or therapeutic program by reading online, is knowing only .001% about a program. Having toured over 250 universities, programs, and secondary schools, Gabriela can honestly say that very few of the schools match their website ‘s glamour and provide quality supports that her students desperately need.

To invest in a child’s development is to set them up for success, not for failure. Starting with the most appropriate options and choosing from there allows a child to flourish. The most critical problem I see in our youth is wasted time for interventions due to delayed action  by the adults in their lives due to a lack of awareness or resources. By thinking that a parent can work full time, research to the extent that is necessary for placement, and do all their other tasks is impossible to fathom. Delegating this process brings trusted programs and a knowledgeable advocate to guide you from start to finish.
